National Night Out 2010
Neighborhood Watch Coordinators, Block Captains, and citizens – this year’s National Night Out (NNO) event in Richardson will be held on Tuesday October 5th, 2010. The theme is “Give Crime and Drugs a Going Away Party”.
The National Association of Town Watch (NATW) has decided based upon responses from communities across Texas to again allow Texas to have National Night Out in October. October is also National Crime Prevention Month which makes this a great opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of being involved in Neighborhood Watch and to refocus on crime prevention in our community.
The Neighborhood Watch Leadership meeting is set for August 3, 2010 at 6:30pm in the Grand Hall at the Richardson Civic Center. We will continue the tradition of a potluck dinner. Click here to register for this important upcoming meeting. The NNO packets will be distributed to each Neighborhood Watch representative at the banquet.
Those representatives who attend the banquet will have the opportunity to win one of the specialty visits. Please remember that if you or a representative is not in attendance, you will not be able to win a specialty visit.
Last year, Richardson held on to 2nd place in the nation. We were faced with many challenges thrown at us by the weather, but due to your dedication we had an outstanding night of fun and fellowship.
This year with your continued support and partnership we will again submit our entry to NATW for top honors. We will have a quick turnaround time to get our submission turned in and will need you to send us photos and other documentation of your NNO events to include with our entry. We need to have all the submissions in the crime prevention office no later than October 12th at 5pm.
The City of Richardson has a proud tradition of making National Night Out the premier event for the community and the police department.
