August 19, 2024 - 4-Person Best Ball

Hi All,

All in all, we did pretty good considering the heat! Most groups played within 4½ hours. Let’s remember, especially during the hot days of August, we do not want anybody on the course more than 4 ½ hours. 3 things to focus on to speed up play:

  1. Ready golf. Be ready when it’s your turn. If you are ready, go ahead and hit, even if you aren’t away.
  2. Limit the number of practice swings. 1 or 2 Practice swings should be enough.
  3. Read your putt while others are putting. Then you’re ready to putt when it is your turn.
There were 59 players this week. Be sure to send Mike Fountain an email at mike.fountain@cor.gov, prior to 5:00 PM Saturday afternoon if you do not want to be included in the “No Shows” the following Monday.  Do not call as the Pro Shop has no procedure in place to ensure that Fountain will receive your message.
