All in all, we got off to a great start! While several groups got around in 4:15 or less, there were a number of groups that were much slower. Let’s remember, especially during the hot days of August, we do not want anybody on the course more than 4 ½ hours. 3 things to focus on to speed up play:

1. Ready golf. Be ready when it’s your turn. If you are ready, go ahead and hit, even if you aren’t away.
2. Limit the number of practice swings. 1 or 2 Practice swings should be enough.
3. Read your putt while others are putting. Then you’re ready to putt when it is your turn.

There were 72 players this week with 4 no shows. Be sure to send Mike Fountain an email at mike.fountain@cor.gov, prior to 5:00 PM Saturday afternoon if you do not want to be included in the “No Shows” the following Monday. Do not call as the Pro Shop has no procedure in place to ensure that Fountain will receive your message.
