DUE TO CHANGES IN STATE LAW, TFER (Texas Food Establishment Rules)
THE CITY OF RICHARDSON HEALTH DEPARTMENT NO LONGER PROVIDES FOOD HANDLER TRAINING

A list of accredited courses can be found at the Texas Department of State Health Services web site:

TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES  FOOD HANDLER TRAINING

The new law requires:

  • Accredited Food Handler Certification for all employees of a restaurant/food establishment. (Certificates must be kept on file at the food establishment for review by the local health inspector); AND
  • ONE current employee must hold a Certified Food Protection Manager certificate.   (The certificate must be posted in a location in the food establishment that is conspicuous to consumers).
