The City Planning Commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council in making recommendations relative to land use, public improvements, thoroughfare improvements, and planning issues. Specifically, the Commission is charged with the responsibility of reviewing zoning change applications, subdivision plats, development plans, site plans, and certain variance requests. On January 30, 2012 the City Council appointed the members of the City Plan Commission to act as the Council District Boundary Commission as well.
