Surrendering a pet to the shelter
If you need to surrender your pet to the Richardson Animal Shelter you must provide the following:
- A valid state picture ID or drivers license
- Proof of residency in the City of Richardson
Other items that may be provided but are not required:
- Rabies vaccination information
- Veterinary records
- Toys or blankets
- Microchip information
- Medications that your pet may be taking
Unwanted Animals Fees:
- Adult Animals (6 months of age or older)
- $20.00 per animal
- $10.00 waived if pet is currently vaccinated for rabies. Must show written proof.
- $10.00 waived if pet is spayed/neutered
- Puppies or Kittens
