City of Richardson obtains its water supply through a contract with the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD). NTMWD treats and distributes water from Lake Lavon, Lake Chapman, and Lake Texoma.
Utilities Field Operation crews are responsible for all maintenance necessary to ensure the safe delivery of high-quality potable water and the efficient disposal of wastewater within the City of Richardson. The system includes pump stations, ground storage tanks, elevated water storage tanks, and wastewater lift/pumping stations.
The water distribution system is essential to public health and safety. It supplies safe water for domestic, commercial, and industrial use, as well as for fire protection. The wastewater collection system provides for sanitary disposal of liquid waste.
