Residential and Commercial Services

Residential solid waste collection is provided twice a week and residential recycling is provided once a week to approximately 27,500 households. Additionally, the Public Services Department collects Commercial solid waste from approximately 1,500 customers up to six times a week.

 

Last fiscal year, Public Services visited Richardson homes more than 73,000 times for Brush and Bulky Item Collection (BABIC). The winter storm in 2013 resulted in more than 13,000 BABIC requests.

Holiday Schedule

The City of Richardson schedules holiday make-up days for recycling collection. No holiday make-up days are provided for regular trash.

Brush and Bulky Item Collection (BABIC)

This service helps residents dispose of large amounts of brush or oversized items like unwanted appliances or furniture that cannot be placed out for regular trash collection.
