The Richardson Parks and Recreation Department will celebrate the grand opening of the Heights Family Aquatic Center with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Funded by City of Richardson’s 2010 bond election, the new aquatic center will be an integral part of the surrounding community, providing visitors with modern amenities such as a zero-entry pool with splash playground, current channel, vortex pool, instructional water, lap swim, play features for a variety of ages, a double flume slide and shade structures. The facility is located adjacent to the City’s recently opened Heights Recreation Center, another 2010 bond program project.
Both new Heights facilities are designed to fit with the surrounding neighborhood’s mid-century modern architecture.
