How long may I keep my items?
Most items check out for a 3-week time period. Entertainment DVDs have a 7-day loan period. Lending periods for Interlibrary Loans are set by the lending library.
How many items can I check out?
On their first checkout, new cardholders may check out a maximum of 3 items. After the first checkout, cardholders may have a maximum of 100 items checked out at one time.
How do I return my items?
There is an outside book return box located to the right of the main entrance. There is also a book return slot inside the Library. Most Library materials can be returned through the book return slots. Items that cannot be returned through the book drops are labeled with a "Do Not Put In Book Drop" sticker, and these items should be returned directly to the Children's Desk. Overdue items may be checked in at the Circulation Desk.
How do I renew my books, videos, or CDs?
Click My Account to access your account through the Library catalog and renew any Library materials you have checked out. You may renew materials by phone--call the Circulation department at 972-744-4363 during business hours. You can also call our automated telephone system, TeleCirc, at 972-744-4385 OR 972-744-4386 to renew items.
Items can be renewed ten times; items with pending requests cannot be renewed. If you have fines, or your materials are overdue, please go to the Library Circulation Desk--or call (972-744-4363)--to inquire about the possibility of renewing. If overdue items are renewed, late fees still apply.
