Heavy Rescue
Each station is equipped to deal with basic rescue situations. In addition, RFD has a heavy rescue squad. Rescue 4 (located at station 4), is staffed with four firefighters who are trained, equipped, and experienced in handling a wide variety of rescue and extrication situations. The department’s high angle, confined space, and swift water rescue capabilities are incorporated into the heavy rescue team.

Hazardous Materials Response
The Hazardous Materials Response Team is located at Fire Station 5. HAZMAT 5 is the primary response unit and is supported by the other units in service.
