Hazardous Materials Response
The Hazardous Materials Response Team is located at Fire Station 5. HAZMAT 5 is the primary response unit and is supported by the other units in service.
Heavy Rescue
Each station is equipped to deal with basic rescue situations. In addition, RFD has a heavy rescue squad. Rescue 4 (Located at station 4), is staffed with four firefighters who are trained, equipped, and experienced in handling a wide variety of rescue and extrication situations. The department’s high angle, confined space, and swift water rescue capabilities are incorporated into the heavy rescue team.
