Explorer Training Picture 2

All Explorer's complete a minimum of 10 hours of training each month. Training is a combination of classroom and practical field application that includes such topics as: vehicle extrication, water supplies, emergency medical services, ventilation, incident command, communications, etc.

Most of the training is done at the local fire station and the fire department training facility located at Owens Boulevard and Lookout Drive. Additional specialized training is done at other training facilities outside of the city.

Each year, the Richardson Fire Department sends fire Explorers to attend the Dallas Fire Games.
