The U. S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration Office of Diversion Control holds a National Drug Take Back Initiative twice a year. 

The Richardson's Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA) sponsors this event and will work with the Richardson Police Department and the DEA.  There will be locations throughout the metroplex & nation.

 Saturday, September 27, 2014  10 a.m. until 2 p.m. 

Richardson Civic Center/City Hall Complex - 411 W. Arapaho Road
(southwest corner of Central Expressway & Arapaho)

 NOT accepted are:

  • Intra-venous solutions, injectibles, and syringes*
  • Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine

ACCEPTED items include: Controlled, noncontrolled, and over the counter medications, whether solid or liquid. Liquid medications should be in their original container with the lid tightly sealed.  Participants may dispose of medication in it's original containor OR by removing the medication from it's container and disposing of it directly into the disposal box.

No questions or requests for identification will be made - this is a collaborative effort and you do NOT have to be a Richardson resident to participate.

*Syringes can be disposed of with your regular trash. Please place in a Sharps container, empty laundry detergent/bleach bottle, milk container, etc. to prevent injury to sanitation employees.
