City Council Discusses Neighborhood Vitality Program Implementation
Posted Date: 8/29/2013

Of the 12 Neighborhood Vitality Program projects included in the 2010 Bond Program, three are complete, one is under construction and eight are nearing the beginning of construction. That was the update provided to the City Council during this week’s workshop meeting.

Bridges in Duck Creek, North College Park and Mark Twain neighborhoods are complete, and four bridges in the Cottonwood Heights are under construction. Bids are being reviewed for construction on three bridges in Canyon Creek, and the City is seeking bids for entry features and other enhancements for six additional neighborhoods.

Neighborhood vitality projects include screening walls, neighborhood entries and other road-side enhancement projects that the City has implemented to help improve the aesthetics of neighborhoods in Richardson. The 12 projects currently underway are funded through the 2010 Bond Program, as well as savings and interest earnings from a 2006 Bond Program.
