The Richardson Fire Department and Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association are selling personalized engraved bricks to help fund a bronze statue to honor the city’s firefighters and those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The bricks will pave a “Walk of Honor” leading up the statue, which will be installed at the City’s new Fire Training Center.
Each four-by-eight inch brick costs $50 and can be engraved with a family or business name, inspirational thought, memorial, birthday greeting or other message and an optional choice of logo. The “Walk of Honor” has space for 6,000 bricks, and the department is hoping to sell as many as possible before it is built in March.
Brick order forms are available at City Hall or by visiting http://www.cor.net/index.aspx?page=1668.
