Motorcycle riders across the DFW Metroplex are invited to rev up their engines for the 4th annual Great Ride, a 90-mile motorcycle tour benefitting Special Olympics Texas, departing from Richardson on Saturday, Aug. 30. An event affiliated with the City of Richardson's annual Corporate Challenge, the Great Ride has grown each year, with several hundred motorcyclists expected to take part this year.
The approximately two-hour-long ride will start and end at Galatyn Plaza, located next to the Renaissance Hotel in Richardson. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the ride starting at 9:30 a.m. Participants will enjoy doughnuts and water in the morning, and lunch provided by In-N-Out Burger, music and other festivities beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the plaza.
Riders are asked to make a minimum $20 donation to participate, while passengers are required to contribute a minimum of $10. Individual riders who are affiliated with a Corporate Challenge team can note this on their registration form, and have their Ride registration fee count toward their company team’s fundraising total. The first 500 Great Ride participants will receive a souvenir neck coolie.
