We offer a progressive swim lesson program with hands on instructors and the ability for swimmers to learn at their own pace in peer groups. Lessons are priced to be affordable for our community as we believe water safety and learning to swim are skills everyone should learn! Our group lessons will be offered at each neighborhood pool and are broken out by age group:

• Parent & Child
• Preschool
• Elementary
• Teen & Adults

We also offer private lessons with one instructor with one swimmer, or one instructor with two swimmers. Private lessons allow for more personalized attention and faster progress of skills. This is an excellent option for anyone who has no swimming experience, a fear of the water or would like to improve upon their existing skills.

Heights Family Aquatic center is our largest facility and parties start at $350 for up to 100 people. It's $25 per additional 25 people; max 200. Our pool rentals are offered Fri - Sat - Sun evenings 8:15-10:15pm and Sat & Sun mornings 9:30-11:30am.

All neighborhood pools offer party rentals starting at $100 for up to 25 people.  It's $25 per additional 25 people; max 75. Our pool rentals are offered Fri - Sat - Sun evenings 8-10pm and Sat & Sun mornings 10a-12pm.

Private Pool Party & Pavilion Reservations are available to Richardson Residents Only.

• Payment in full is due at the time of the booking
• Have multiple dates available for your event if your first choice is not available

FOR ALL POOLS: NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR GLASS CONTAINERS. Reservations must be made and paid in full at time of booking. All reservations are dependent upon staff availability and weather conditions.

Swim team registration opens Monday, April 1^st for residents and Monday, April 8^th for non-residents. Registration will remain open until the team time slot fills.

This program is a recreational introduction to swimming as a competitive sport. The prerequisite for swim team is being able to continuously swim two lengths of the pool using appropriate freestyle/front crawl and/or breast stroke mechanics. We will focus on building endurance through interval training and refining technique for all four competitive strokes. Practices are held daily and four swim meets are scheduled Saturday mornings throughout the summer. Swimmers are responsible for purchasing their own swimsuit.  Each participant will receive a team swim cap and goggles, plus one additional giveaway swim team item for the season. There will be no swim team July 1-5.

The Canyon Creek Swim Team meets from 7:45-8:45 a.m. (Red Team) and 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. (Yellow Team).

The Glenville Swim Team meets from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. (Black Team).

The Cottonwood Swim Team meets from 9:15 a.m-10:15 a.m. (Blue Team) and 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. (Green Team).

Swim teams are important to our community! We offer five local teams at three of our neighborhood pools. They provide a positive summer learning opportunity to compete, improve swim strokes, endurance and times. We have amazing coaches, teams and families that are committed to volunteering and cheering for all athletes.

 

We hold four meets per year between our teams. Parents and volunteers are strongly encouraged to participate in each of our meets as timers and deck assistants. Remember, our young athletes need your help to learn what it means to be part of a team and compete!

Saturday swim meet dates: June 15, June 29, July 13 and July 27

The City of Richardson uses the Weather Bug app that includes a Spark Lightning feature which identifies where the nearest strike of lightning has occurred. If there is lighting within a ten mile radius of the aquatic center it will close for at least a half hour. The facility will remain closed for a half hour succeeding the last lightning strike within a ten mile radius.

For the safety of our patrons all patrons must leave the pool gate area and remain outside the facility until it is deemed safe to reopen. Patrons are encouraged to call the facility to check on the current status.

The City of Richardson will be hiring seasonal lifeguards, swim instructors, coaches and cashiers.  We provide a great team environment, flexible work schedules, and free training! Interviews begin in January and continue until all positions are filled.
