Month of Volunteerism

In March of 2012, the Richardson City Council dedicated every April as Richardson's Month of Volunteerism.  In 2013, the month long celebration provides an opportunity to highlight the hours of work many volunteers contribute to bettering the City. From aiding senior citizens in abating code violations to volunteering in the annual Trash Bash, our volunteers positively impact Richardson in many ways. During the month of April completed volunteer projects will be highlighted to recognize the hard work of volunteers and to bring awareness to the many volunteer opportunities that exist in Richardson.

Trash Bash

The City of Richardson Health Department will hold their nineteenth annual Trash Bash event on April 6, 2013.  Trash Bash 2013 has expanded to include a clothing drive benefiting the Network of Community Ministries and free mulch for attendees in addition to the services that have been provided in the past.  Trash Bash utilizes volunteers in a number of ways and the 2013 event is certain to be a success.  You can find more information about trash bash by clicking here.

Volunteer Proclamations

The Richardson City Council recently recognized two volunteer groups that work with the City of Richardson on an ongoing basis.  At the March 25, 2013 City Council meeting the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints and the Young Adults from the First United Methodist Church of Richardson were honored for their dedication to local volunteerism.  Because of their efforts the lives of many residents have been positively impacted.
