RROB Author Lecture

Join us at the Richardson Reads One Book Author Lecture Tuesday, September 24th at 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church Richardson. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. RROB is privileged to welcome Brendan Slocumb, author of "Symphony of Secrets" to our community to discuss his novel. Tickets are free and online only at bit.ly/RROBLecture24 beginning September 10th at 9 am and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, until they are gone. Because this event is expected to fill to capacity, please reserve tickets only for those who you know can attend so everyone in the community who wishes to take part can do so. Tickets are limited to 2 per order and per email address.

No need to get tickets online if you're a Richardson Reads donor of $50 or more: If you donated $50-$99, you will receive one lecture ticket in your name, and if you donated $100 or more, you will receive two VIP section lecture tickets. Email richardsonreadstx@gmail.com with questions.

RROB Author Luncheon

Luncheon ticket sales are now open at bit.ly/RROBLunch24! The deadline to buy luncheon tickets is Sunday, September 15th; however, last year's tickets sold out, so we encourage you to purchase your tickets early!

The Richardson Reads One Book Luncheon and Book Signing will be held at the beautiful UT Dallas Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center on Wednesday, September 25th at 11:00 am (doors open at 10:45, lunch is available at 11:00, and the program begins at 11:30). We’ll enjoy a catered lunch and an intimate interview with Brendan Slocumb, author of the 2024 Richardson Reads One Book selection Symphony of Secrets. Following the interview, Mr. Slocumb will answer questions from luncheon attendees and will be available to sign books. Your $30 ticket includes lunch and parking. Email richardsonreadstx@gmail.com with questions. We look forward to seeing you there!

Please note, this is a separate RROB event from the author lecture, which will be held on Tuesday, September 24 at 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church Richardson. Free tickets to the author lecture will be available beginning Tuesday, September 10 at 9 am.

WARNING: Please beware of scammers within comments and direct messages claiming to have RROB tickets for sale. Please do not buy tickets for any RROB event from anywhere other than our official sales sites as the tickets may not be official or valid.

Richardson Reads One Book cultivates community through the shared experience of reading and discussing important topics within an annual book selection and author visit. The goals of RROB are to build community participation in an annual program that selects and reads one particular book that is carefully chosen for its general interest as well as for its timely, thought-provoking issues; and to encourage citizens of our richly diverse community to come together to openly discuss the book and the issues it raises. The chosen book will be available in paperback and preferably will also be available in another format such as an audio recording or a film. The book will be accessible to high school as well as to adult audiences.
