Everyone is welcome!

The Richardson Public Library is dedicated to offering welcoming, inclusive, and high-quality services and resources that cater to the entire community.

We believe that connecting with the community beyond our library building is vital to fulfilling our mission. Our goal is to engage with residents where they live, work, and play. Whether at school events, community festivals, or in local neighborhoods, our outreach efforts consistently extend beyond our library walls. We are continually seeking new opportunities to connect and serve more members of our community.

What We Do

School visits

  • Student events: RPL offers learning lab activities such as coding, robotics, STEAM/STEM, etc. to students, parents, or families at events such as field days.
  • Information Sessions: RPL offers engaging presentations such as Summer Reading Club information or Library card signup for your students, staff, or members, highlighting the services and programs we provide.
  • Parent/Teacher Nights and Literacy Events: RPL can set up at your school to share information about our services and programs with your community. We also offer similar setups for organizations looking to connect with their audiences.

Community/Organizational Events

Tailored for organizational events, including social groups, church communities, service organizations, and neighborhood associations.

  • Tabling: RPL can participate in your event by providing information about our services and programs, or by engaging the community with a themed craft or activity that complements your event.

Conventions and Festivals

  • Demos and Tabling: RPL can set up at your event to offer technology demonstrations, while also engaging the community with a craft or activity that aligns with your event's theme or purpose.
