"Private Jeff Morgan Tucker: First African-American Casualty from Collin County in WWI"
Presented by Kristen Spalding, Collin County History Museum Volunteer
Born and raised in McKinney and later residing in Greenville, Private Tucker enlisted for World War I. He served eight weeks before dying of illness. He was the first black soldier to return to Collin County from the war. Kristen Spalding will share her findings of Private Tucker, his unmarked grave, and his fellow African American doughboys.
