Community Arts Day is on Sunday, September 16 from 1-5pm. Sponsored by the City of Richardson in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Eisemann Center, this is a free, family-friendly day all about the arts!
There will be more than 30 community arts organizations represented as well as area caterers set up on all three levels of lobby space within the Eisemann Center. There will be arts & crafts for kids and other various activities and demonstrations including a story time, origami lessons and a balloon artist.
Beginning at 1:30, Technical Theatre 101 will be happening in the Bank of America Theatre. Members of the Eisemann Center tech staff will be demonstrating what it takes to make a production happen including the lighting, sound and rigging systems as well as different stage set-ups, orchestra shell, piano, etc. These demonstrations will continue for approximately 3-4 hours.
In the Hill Performance Hall, the All Round Talent Showcase will begin at 2pm. This showcase features the finalists from auditions held over the summer and represent not only Richardson but Plano, Dallas, Mesquite, Frisco, Murphy, McKinney, Denton, Rowlett, Greenville, Rockwall, Carrollton and Kaufman. Performances include singing, dancing and comedy in both solo and group dynamics.
The Green Mezzanine-Gallery will have a 10-year Retrospective art exhibit on display. These pieces will celebrate the 10 years of the Eisemann Center with a mix of media-memorabilia and photos.
