The U.S. Military Academy was founded at West Point, NY in 1802, primarily as a military engineering school. For over 200 years it has provided the core of U.S. Army officers. It was joined in 1845 by the U.S. Naval Academy, and in 1954 by the U.S. Air Force Academy. All three schools will be covered by Richard Cudlipp in his lecture.
