The City of Richardson will host a presentation from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26 featuring an “Introduction to the John
Bunker Sands Wetland Center.”
The John Bunker Sands (JBS) Wetland Center is a one of a kind, manmade wetland that provides millions of gallons of additional drinking water to the region while serving as a vital natural habitat for some of our most treasured wildlife in the region.
The free event will be at the Richardson Civic Center/City Hall Complex in the Parks Room and JBS Wetland Director John DeFillipo will be the guest speaker. He will cover the following topics:
- State of our current water supply
- History of public/private partnership between John Bunker Sands and the North Texas Municipal Water District
- Current Wetland Center research and educational programs
- In introduction to wildlife at John Bunker Sands
