Participants must register before attending any of the Richardson Urban Naturalist programs and each has a maximum number of participants of 25. Children are encouraged to attend and those under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. $5 registration for Adults 18 and over. Master Naturalist and botanist Jim Varnum has been cataloging the plants of Breckinridge Park for many years which now totals over 400 different plant species. Each season has its special beauty in this plant kingdom and fall is no exception. An abundance of fall color makes a beautiful showing from forest floor to canopy tops. Jim has a tremendous knowledge of the heritage of these native plants and their roles in how the culture and history of our region. Cameras and binoculars are both very handy to have on nature walks with Jim because you never know what you might come across.
