Urban Naturalist: "Living with Wildlife in the Urban Area"

Participants must register before attending any of the Richardson Urban Naturalist programs and each has a maximum number of participants of 25. Children are encouraged to attend and those under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. $5 registration for Adults 18 and over. Come and join a very informative nature walk with Derek Broman, Urban Wildlife Biologist with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. As urban growth continues to encroach on previously undeveloped land more and more wildlife habitat is lost and the critters that have lost their homes must either pack-up and go to another location or adapt to their new surroundings. And if you are fortunate enough to live close to a creek you may be surprised to learn you are living by a super highway that wildlife use constantly. So how do we live with nature and wildlife in a compatible manner for both ourselves and the animals? And what risks are really present with urban wildlife or just completely misunderstood and blown out of proportion. This is a walk everyone will enjoy and get a better understanding of our "other" neighbors we share the landscape with. MEETING AT BRECKINRIDGE PARK West Side, 3404 Moroney Drive, South Parking Lot.
