Join the Richardson Senior Center for a series of monthly presentations as they learn about various parts of the world. This month the Senior Center will go on an “Alaska Adventures.”

In beTWEEN Book Club
Read the best-of-the-best kids books and explore their content via games, scavenger hunts, film excerpts and more. Try something new every month based on book award and nominee lists like Bluebonnet, Little Mavericks, Sibert and Geisel.

CityLine Live
Come out for live music at CityLine Plaza. Blues rock artist Jake Quillin will perform. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Pups are also welcome.

Yoga in the CORE
Celebrate spring and the warm weather with Yoga in the CORE. Attend this evening yoga session accompanied by live hand drums by Gracen Lee. Bring your yoga mat, water and towel. Beginners are welcome. Then head across the street to Staycation Coffee for “Stay After Dark – A neighborhood Hang.” There will be food, music and a chance to meet neighbors and new friends.
Time: Live hand drums 4:30-6 p.m., Yoga 5-6 p.m. “Stay After Dark – A Neighborhood Hang” 6-9 p.m.

Guided Boardwalk Tour
Join a John Bunker Sands Wetland team member for a guided walk. You will learn about the mammals, birds, amphibian and plants that call the wetland their home.

Shrinky Dink Pins – Teen Program
Create unique pins from shrink plastic that starts big and shrinks small in a matter of minutes. All supplies will be provided.

Sunflower-Themed Art Show
The Richardson Civic Art Society is partnering with the Plano Art Association to host a special art exhibit and auction to help with relief efforts in Ukraine. Original artwork from more than 50 artists will feature a sunflower-themed subject. All revenue from the event will be donated to the charity, www.sunflowerofpeace.com.
Time: Silent auction begins at 10:30 a.m. Live auction begins at 5 p.m.

Darbey’s Storywalk®
“Baby Goes to Market,” by Atinuke and illustrated by Angela Brooksbank is the April title now installed in Darbey’s Storywalk®. The storyline centers on Baby, who rides on Mama’s back through an outdoor market. The colorful book also provides a good early lesson in numbers, counting and addition/subtraction, as the vendors they pass keep giving baby treats without Mama knowing.
Time: Always open. (Available through April 30)
Location: Outdoors, beginning at the Friends Garden on the north side of the Richardson Public Library.

RCAS Exhibit at City Hall/Civic Center
The Richardson Civic Art Society has installed a new exhibit on the north wall of the City Hall/Civic Center’s main hallway, featuring 19 paintings created by RCAS board members. The colorful display includes framed and unframed creations of varying sizes, including oils, watercolors, collage and acrylic mediums.
Time: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Composed Perception: Landscape as Aesthetic Process
This exhibit of contemporary landscape photography from the Comer Collection aims to explore the relationship of the human being to the earth, while also examining how the landscapes inhabited are socially, culturally and aesthetically composed.

Global Sustainability Experience
Join Richardson Mayor Paul Voelker and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus as they serve as the keynote speakers for the first Global Sustainability Experience presented by the Naveen Jindal School of Management. GSE will consist of webinars and workshops and will end in a final round of student competition and a celebration on Earth Day.

Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival
The annual festival returns in May. Attendees can enjoy a variety of musical performances from both local and international artists, a battle of the bands, food from vendors throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, kids activities and more.

Wildflower! Cornhole Tournament
Registration is now open for the first Wildflower! Cornhole Tournament, which will take place at the festival. The grand prize will include a $150 gift card to Scheels.

Cottonwood Art Festival
The bi-annual festival returns in May for the 53rd year. It will feature brand new artists, live art performances, bands, hands-on arts and crafts for kids and more.
