Ishwara by Rukmini Vijayakumar
Rukmini is the Artistic Director of her classical dance company, Raadha Kalpa, the director of her art space, LshVa, and the founder of The Raadha Kalpa Method, a pedagogical system for the practice of Bharatanatyam. One of the most sought-after Bharatanatyam soloists of her generation, Rukmini has performed all over the world.

3rd Saturday Guided Boardwalk Tour
Learn about John Bunker Sands Wetland Center's plants, animals and the fascinating history of the property. You can also learn about the innovative design of the wetland, the relationship the wetland has with water supply and the interaction between human engineering and nature.

Health Fair
Join St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church for a health fair. There will be free immunizations for children and teens and vision screenings for all ages. The fair will also offer information about the Children’s Health Insurance Program, dental health information and resources, Boys and Girls Club information and a free bicycle helmet giveaway.

Dallas in the Aftermath of the Kennedy Assassination
Join Stephen Fagin, curator at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza, as he discusses Dallas in the aftermath of the Kennedy assassination and the story of how the former Texas School Book Depository building became a world-renowned museum. After the presentation, anyone with memories of the assassination or the 1960s in general, is invited to record a brief interview with Mr. Fagin for the museum’s ongoing oral history project. Your story will be preserved and become a part of history.Time: 1 p.m. (Monday)

Humanizing the Homeless: Portraits, Signs and Songs
View this art exhibit that aims to raise awareness of homelessness. It is presented by UT Dallas Associate Dean of the Arts and Director of Choirs Jonathan Palant, SMU professor of advertising Willie Baronet and Canada-based artist Leah den Bok. It features images, taken by Leah den Bok, of those experiencing homelessness.Time: 8 a.m.-11 p.m. (Aug. 19-Sept. 30)

Around the World – A Relaxing Riverboat Journey Down the Old Mississippi
Join the Richardson Senior Center and start in Memphis with a two-night stay at Graceland, where you will tour Elvis’ home and museums while dancing and singing all day long. Then it’s down the river to Vicksburg, Natchez and Baton Rouge to learn about the culture and tow boat technology from a retired Mississippi riverboat captain. After that, make several additional stops at small old towns along the river and conclude with a jambalaya cooking lesson by a real southern family cook. All of this can be done from the comfort of your chair.Time: 1 p.m. (Wednesday)

Want to splash in the pool while enjoying a movie? Join the Richardson Parks and Recreation Department for a dive-in movie event. This event is for grownups only.
