A building permit is required for a new driveway, widening of a driveway, and replacing an existing driveway.
- Please refer to the general concrete information handout as it pertains to driveway, sidewalk or approach; contractor must request a pre-pour inspection and receive approval prior to pouring any concrete.
- If the scope of work extends beyond the property line in the Right-Of-Way, the contractor must submit a concrete bond.
- Any new or widening of a driveway may also be required to be reviewed by the Traffic Dept. and/or Capital Projects and be subject to additional provisions of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance.

The building permit must be approved and posted at the property prior to any work commencing. All contractors must be registered to perform work in the City of Richardson.
