The new Richardson Public Safety Campus is located at the northeast corner of Greenville Avenue and Belt Line Road. The project includes the construction of a new Police Headquarters building, a new Fire Station 1 that includes Fire Department Administration, as well as the installation of three public art pieces and secure parking.
The new 31,000-square-foot fire station features an administrative wing and is located on the north end of the 10-acre property. It includes larger, improved locker rooms, a larger bay to store vehicles and equipment, and additional space for existing and future staff.
The Police Department is a new 77,000-square-foot police facility, located south of the new fire station and next to the existing detention center. Additionally, a new 7,000-square-foot police support building will be constructed along Main Street and is scheduled to be complete in summer 2020.
Once the new Campus is fully open, the existing fire and police stations will be demolished to make room for a public parking lot and screening wall along Main Street.
