The City of Richardson has reviewed all Special Permits currently on its Zoning Map to verify the operational status of the designated activity and whether a Special Permit is still necessary for operation of the business. Zoning File 19-10 proposes to repeal numerous existing ordinances related to Special Permits in two categories:

• Inactive uses have ceased operation or no longer exist at approved locations.
• Obsolete Special Permits are those where the designated use is currently allowed by right within the base zoning district where the property is located.

On Monday, April 1, 2019, the Richardson City Council and City Plan Commission will hold a joint public hearing to consider the repeal of these Special Permits. The joint public hearing agenda for this meeting will be posted on the City of Richardson website the Friday before the public hearing.

For those that are repealed, the City’s official zoning map will be amended to reflect the repeal of these ordinances.
