Home MenuAccess and Functional Needs
If you or someone in your household has access or functional needs, it’s important to incorporate them into your disaster plans. If you need help in planning for your loved one’s needs or would like to request preparedness materials in an alternate format like braille or large print, please contact the Office of Emergency Management for assistance.
The City of Richardson uses the Emergency Notification System to register citizens with access and functional needs to help in disaster planning as well as ensure vital health history information is provided to first responders.

- Include your support network and any caregivers in the planning process
- Provide the power company with a list of all power-dependent life-support equipment and plan for an alternate power source in advance
- Create an adequate emergency food supply for those with special dietary needs
