The City of Richardson’s Fleet Department had the honor of accepting the award for being one of the top 100 Fleet Departments in the United States.  Our departments were an integral part of assisting evacuees during Hurricanes Rita and Katrina.

Fleet Services:
Provides support to all City of Richardson vehicles. We currently have five Technician I’s, eight Technician II’s and one Technician III, along with three Preventive Maintenance Technicians on staff. Our Technician staff are ASE and/or EVT certificated and provide our departments with excellent service. Our department also has an extensive Parts Warehouse that ensures cost efficient and timely repairs on our 600 plus vehicle fleet.

Material Services:
Our 11,000 square foot warehouse stores a wide variety of items to assist our departments such as; Streets, Water, Traffic, and Solid Waste, in their day-to-day operations. We handle all auction aspects of all City surplus property, stock items for the Citizens Recycling Program, and handle all logistics for distribution and replacement of inventory. We currently have two Material Technicians on staff to assist departments with their needs.
