HOURS:
Effective January 3, 2022, a normal duty week is 56 hours (48 hour shift, 96 hours off). However, employees may be assigned to any duties at any time that may require an alternate work schedule.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT:
The Richardson Fire Department furnishes uniforms and protective equipment.
TRAINING:
Apprentice Fire Fighters will attend a fire recruit training academy at the Richardson Fire Department Training Center. All candidates must successfully pass the fire academy training program and the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Certification Exam, as well as become certified or maintain certification as a Paramedic through the Texas Department of State Health Services. Additional job training will occur based on the needs of the department.
