Santa’s Village, a tiny town of north pole inspired holiday dwellings at Huffhines Park, is a holiday tradition for families from Richardson and beyond. Each colorful building offers children a fun activity and even a visit with Santa Claus! Attendees can also enjoy live performances, holiday photo ops and warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or a snack.
With everything from a post office to a bakery and a tv station, it takes a whole town of volunteers to keep Santa’s Village up and running. Volunteers arrive before the village opens to begin preparing for visitors. Most of our volunteers are affiliated with an organization that sponsors a particular building or activity, but some volunteer through the City of Richardson to fill in where needed. Volunteers are needed to assist with activities in the dwelling, and serve as greeters and interact with our guests.
Over the duration of Santa’s Village, the City of Richardson relies on over 100 volunteers per night who contribute a total of 4,025 hours. We are extremely grateful for the commitment, hard work and never-ending similes of our volunteers to help children and their families celebrate the holiday season!
