There were 59 players for Monday with a 8:30 AM Shotgun start.  We had 6 “No Shows” which left 16 that had previously cancelled.  Be sure to send Mike Fountain an email at mike.fountain@cor.gov, prior to 5:00 PM Saturday afternoon if you do not want to be included in the “No Shows” the following Monday.  Do not call as the Pro Shop has no procedure in place to ensure that Fountain will receive your message.  Weeks #1 and #2 are from Spring of 2020.

USGA World Handicap System changes implemented January, 2020:

1. – The handicap index calculation is changing:

• Your number will be based off your 8 best scores out of the past 20.

1. -  You will have a playing Handicap:

• Slope rating and now Course Rating and Par will be used to determine your playing HC.

1. -  Net Double Bogey will replace ESC:

• The Maximum hole score for handicap purposes will be limited to Net Double Bogey
• (Par + 2 + any handicap strokes you receive).

1. -  You will have more responsive HC Index updates:

• Your Handicap Index will update the day after you post a score.

1. -  Safeguards have been added to protect your Handicap Index:

•  The system will account for abnormal playing conditions, limit extreme upward movement of a Handicap Index, and reduce a Handicap Index when an exceptional score is posted.
