Results For March 9, 2020, Week #2 (2-Person Best Ball)

It sure wasn’t a very pretty day on Monday.  If so many hadn’t finished play we probably would have cancelled, but there were only a handful that ended up leaving and those that finished needed to be rewarded for staying.  There were 62 players for Monday’s shotgun start and all the “No Shows” will be excused and those that left will be credited for being there.  In the future, send Mike Fountain an email at mike.fountain@cor.gov, prior to 5:00 PM Saturday afternoon if you do not want to be included in the “No Shows” the following Monday.  Do not call as the Pro Shop has no procedure in place to ensure that Fountain will receive your message.

See Below for an explanation of the USGA GHIN Handicap Changes:

REMEMBER:  March Start Time is 9:00 AM.  In April we will change to an 8:30 AM Start Time.  Don’t Forget Daylight Savings change this Sunday.

  1. - The handicap index calculation is changing:
Your number will be based off your 8 best scores out of the past 20.
  2. -  You will have a playing Handicap:
Slope rating and now Course Rating and Par will be used to determine your playing HC.
  3. -  Net Double Bogey will replace ESC:
The Maximum hole score for handicap purposes will be limited to Net Double Bogey
(Par + 2 + any handicap strokes you receive).
  4. You will have more responsive HC Index updates:
Your Handicap Index will update the day after you post a score.
  5. Safeguards have been added to protect your Handicap Index:
The system will account for abnormal playing conditions, limit extreme upward movement of a Handicap Index, and reduce a Handicap Index when an exceptional score is posted.
