The Richardson Senior Center has undergone a complete transformation and reopened to the public June 1, 2021 as part of the 2015 Bond Program approved by Richardson residents Nov. 3, 2015.
Highlights of the renovations include:
- Interior improvements, including increased space for fitness and dining
- Parking/safety improvements, including new parking lot pavement and creating one main entrance, with a covered, pull-through drop-off lane
- Accessibility improvements, including pavement grades that will eliminate stairs and ramps into the main entrance
- Aesthetic improvements, including increased greenspace on the south side of the building, new landscaping and a new courtyard

The City of Richardson held it’s first Senior Assembly which introduced the final design concepts which gave participants a chance to ask any questions they had about the design and transition during renovation.
May 8, 2019 Open House
The City of Richardson Parks and Recreation staff held an open house progress report allowing residents the opportunity to hear updates, see the design concept directions and ask any questions they had.
Oct. 17, 2018 Open House
The City of Richardson Parks and Recreation staff held a come-and-go open house allowing residents the opportunity to meet the design team and find out what renovations and enhancements are planned. Staff incorporated feedback from the event into an updated design.
