How long may I keep my items?

Most items check out for a 3-week time period. BOOKbabble to go Bags check out for six weeks.  Lending periods for Interlibrary Loans are set by the lending library.

How many items can I check out?

Cardholders may have a maximum of 100 items checked out at one time. A maximum of 25 DVDs may be checked out at one time.

How do I return my items?

An outside book return box is located to the left of the main entrance, and another book return slot is inside the Library. Note that items returned in the outdoor book drop may not be checked in for 24 hours. Most Library materials can be returned through either of these book return slots. Items that cannot be returned through the book drops are labeled with a "Do Not Put In Book Drop" sticker, and these items should be handed to staff at the Circulation Desk for check-in.  

How do I renew my books, videos, or CDs?

Beginning March 1, 2019, most items will be eligible for automatic renewal (digital, Interlibrary Loan, and items with pending holds are not eligible). Eligible items will automatically renew up to 3 times — some exceptions apply. You are responsible for checking your Library account regularly to see which items were and were not automatically renewed. A notice of renewed items will be sent if you have opted in for email notifications. You may opt out of automatic renewals altogether and continue to renew your own materials if you wish.

To check your Library account, click My Account for access through the Library catalog; there you may renew any Library materials you have checked out. In addition, you may renew materials by phone — call the Circulation department at 972-744-4363 during business hours.

You can also call our automated telephone system, TeleCirc, at either 972-744-4385 OR  972-744-4386, to renew items.   

If your materials are overdue, please go to the Library Circulation Desk (or call 972-744-4363) to inquire about the possibility of renewing. If overdue items are renewed, your account privileges will be restored.
