Paperless
Online Billing
250,000 paper bills are still printed, mailed and delivered by the postal service every year costing our community time, money and natural resources. That’s why we are asking all residents and businesses to consider switching to online water utility billing.
Nearly 13,000 customers have already made the switch to Go Paperless.
Did You Know?
A single water utility bill may not seem like it uses much paper but when stacked the amount of bills printed and mailed to Richardson residents each year would be higher than the tallest building in Dallas (The Bank of America Plaza - 921’ Tall).
Each bill is roughly .045” thick but when you stack 250,000 of them each year, you get a stack of paper 937’ tall.
The Impact of Going Paperless
Stacking High
Annual paper bills mailed, when stacked, soar higher than the tallest building in Dallas.
Going the Distance
Annual paper bills mailed, aid end-to-end, are longer than the DART Silver Line Rail.
Going in Circles
Annual paper bills mailed could encircle the entire City.
The City of Richardson is offering a great option to help people pay their water bills every month. Electronic billing or “E-Billing” is secure and convenient, saving you a trip to our Water Customer Service Desk, but customers must register to go paperless and have their bill sent via e-mail.
E-billing gives you the ability to visit our payment portal to view account information and make payments online. As a reminder, by electing to begin e-billing, you will no longer receive a paper utility bill from the City of Richardson. Instead people will receive an e-mail. For more information about e-billing please call 972-744-4120 or visit cor.net/waterbill.
