Jennifer is an attorney who received her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and her law degree from the SMU Dedman School of Law. She was in private practice for several years focused on the areas of financial and commercial litigation before moving in-house where she is a litigator for a Fortune 50 company. Before becoming an attorney, Jennifer served for nearly ten years as the director of global community building for a nonprofit organization.
Jennifer has a history of service and participation in the city including president of the Mark Twain Neighborhood Association, member of the Civil Service Board, member of the Library Board, Leadership Richardson (Class 32), Richardson Citizens Fire Academy (Class 16), Richardson Citizens Academy & Resource Education Series (Class 2), and the Richardson Citizens Police Academy (Class 42).
She currently serves as the City Council’s liaison to the Animal Services Advisory Commission, as a member of the Council’s Education Committee and Business Committee, and is secretary-treasurer for the North Central Texas Council of Governments' (NCTCOG) Executive Board.
Jennifer and her husband, Mike Sanders, both grew up in Richardson and are graduates of L.V. Berkner High School.
