Richardson’s dog park, Bush Central Barkway, is a six acre site located under and along the President George Bush Turnpike west of US75. It includes separate areas for large and small dogs and a rental area is available. The park has a central plaza with restrooms, shade structures and open space with different textures that include grass, decomposed granite, stone and logs.
There are several options for individuals or organizations to contribute to the Bush Central Barkway. Businesses and individuals have the opportunity for their gift to be acknowledged by a plaque or related signage. Below are opportunities to support the Bush Central Barkway:
Park Benches $700 per bench
Donations are needed to provide five to seven park benches throughout the Barkway. These benches will offer convenient seating, stand up to the elements and provide a visual appeal that works with the overall design of the Barkway.
Information Kiosks $16,000
An information kiosk at the Barkway will provide a new communication channel for Barkway patrons to see important civic and Barkway related information. This structure will be constructed out of limestone and durable steel and will display information behind a clear protective cover.
Friend of the Dog Park
Friend of the Dog Park contribute annual financial support to help provide the park maintenance and supplies necessary to keep the park open and running smoothly. There are several levels of support:
