The Richardson Police Department is a Texas Police Chief Association (TPCA) Recognized Best Practices awarded agency that employs 170 sworn officers and 107 civilians. The Police Department’s award winning Volunteer in Police Service (VIPS) program provides over 19,000 hours of service each year. As one of the premier law enforcement agencies in the North Texas area, preservation of life, community policing, volunteerism, exceptional service and training, define the Department’s mission.
The Richardson Fire Department is an ISO Class 1 recognized agency consisting of 161 Firefighters and 4 civilians. The Fire Department is a dynamic organization of highly trained and dedicated professionals committed to the delivery of quality services. The Fire Department provides a proactive approach to training, planning and public education.
Private donations allow for the Richardson Police and Fire Departments to expand the opportunities to work with the community in a proactive manner.
Community Outreach starting at $5,000
Provide sponsorship of community and volunteer programs that enhance the Fire and Police Department's engagement in community outreach by providing the resources for personnel to work directly with members of the community on safety topics. Naming opportunities are available.
Provide financial support for the Fire Department to supply additional public education materials, smoke detectors for residents in need and training for the community.
