To protect the special turf that is required at the dog park, heavy rain can cause the park to be closed for temporary periods of time. Closure Alert: A section of Central Trail that parallels Routh Creek Pkwy is closed due to a development project located close to the corner of N Glenville Dr @ Routh Creek Pkwy. The trail is closed just north of N Glenville Dr up to the boardwalk that leads downward into Spring Creek Nature Area. Spring Creek Nature Area is still accessible from Renner Rd. by trail. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 972-744-4300 or Development Services 972-744-4250.

With the nice weather, we are getting many inquiries about reserving parks for special occasions. Pavilions can be reserved for parties and events at Breckinridge, Cottonwood, Crowley and Huffhines Parks along with Discovery Point at Prairie Creek Park. Other park pavilions can be used on a first-come first-serve basis. Please contact Heights or Huffhines Recreation Center for more information.
